General information: The city is safe, busy and beautiful. It is the second largest city of Colombia in the central region of the Andes Mountain at an elevation of about 1500 meters (4900 feet). It is quickly developing and becoming more and more attractive for tourists, business partners and cultural events from all over the world.

How to arrive:

1.  From José María Córdova International Airport (MDE):

José María Córdova International Airoport is located in the City of Rionegro, 45 minutes away from the city of Medellín.

The easiest way to arrive to the city is by taxi:

Aerotaxi (White): 60 000 peso,

Uber: 65-75 000 peso

Cabify: 65 – 75 000 peso


Shuttle (buses and mini buses, Combuses):  9000 peso

City taxis (yellow) by meter inside the taxi (till the UPB university would be around 7 000 peso)




The central campus of the University Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana is located in the neighborhood Laureles. It has three gates: at Nutibara street, at La 70 (setenta) street, at Unicentro (mall).

To arrive to the University, you can take taxi or Uber,

buses  - you pay to the driver when entering look for the information about the price (,,,   application RUTAPP – zona Laureles-Estadio):

Ruta 302 Circular Sur Izquierda – stop at San Juan ave. con la 70 st. – 7 minute walk to the La 70 st. gates

Ruta 304 Comercial Hotelera Derecha – stop at the U.P.B. la 70 st. and Unicentro

Ruta 190 Laureles Parque – stop at the U.P.B. la 70 st.

Ruta 191 Laureles Exito – stop at the U.P.B. la 70 st.

Please use any search engine, but pay attention to the location of the hotel or hostel.

Where to eat:

Laureles is a great gastronomic location. However, please avoid eating food offered by street vendors.
